One of the goals of Disability Ministries of the Susquehanna Conference is to create a regular newsletter as well as to regularly update our blog with news and resources about the church and the disability community.
Submission Guidelines
Articles should be between 500-1200 words in length. They should also employ person first language as much as possible. Disability Ministries reserves the right to edit articles before publication. All rights remain with the original author.
We also accept poetry, short stories, and creative nonfiction from writers with disabilities. We are especially interested in pieces that deal with a focus on disability theology or the intersection of faith and disability.
We cannot provide compensation for accepted pieces but you will receive a byline and credit any time we reprint your work. All rights remain with the author.
Submissions should include:
–Your Name
-Your Position or Church Membership (Example: Ordained Elder with a Disability, Lay Person in the York District, etc.)
-A brief author bio
-Suggested title for your Piece
-Suggested images, if applicable (Please be certain that you have the right to use all photos/ that all photos belong to you. Otherwise, we will use stock photos).
-If you would like to be tagged on social media, please also include your social media links.
